Keyboard not working property on a mac mini m1
Hi,
I'm using mac 11.2 on a new mac mini. All my computers have the same setup:
- Spanish keyboards
- English as a system language
On the mac m1, if I type on the editor, I see the keys correctly. But if I try to edit a keymap, when I press the key, I can see phpstorm sees the keyboard as an US one. Ex:
- I press the minus (-) key on my spanish keyboard. In the editor window, phpstorm displays the minus (-) key. If I press cmd + -, phpstorm thinks I have pressed cmd + /
Tested with phpstorm 2020.3.2 and with 2021.1 EAPwith the same results.

Please check the following ticket, it seems to be closely related:

I can't find the "Use national layouts for shortcuts" anywhere
As far as I got, this option is available for some languages only. Here is a general discussion:

By the way, according to one of the comments in IDEA-260418, this issue is reproducible on aarch64 version only.
Would it be possible to test Intel build and check how it goes there?
Yes, it would be possible, but I don't have access to the machine right now. I will post the results once I try it
Hi,
I just updated to the latest phpstorm release (with m1 support) and the issue still exists. I can't use phpstorm that way.
I have to switch back to the intel one which is much more slower.
Is this going to be fixed anytime soon?
Thanks
Please follow this ticket, it is about M1-based installations:

Unfortunately, there is no ETA available yet but it is currently in the "In progress" state.
That's unfortunate, but thanks for the reply Vasilly
