Refactor rename of file causes blow-up in storage folder
Not sure how to explain this...
There were some pop-up errors before this, not sure I knew what I was doing.
Is the storage folder supposed to be on exclude? I know this folder is used to generate files by Laravel, but PHPStorm already selects some folders to be certain things (I can tell by their different colors), but for whatever reason it doesn't auto-set this one.

Yes, it looks like a blade cache, you can mark this folder as excluded.
We don't auto-exclude blade caches yet, this feature wasn't discussed/planned yet, as I can see.
