No error given Download sources not working.

Sometimes when I try to download sources in Intellij (Java or Kotlin) it simply does nothing. A progress bar at the bottom flashes briefly, then the message changes in the yellow tab to "Downloading sources..." but nothing happens. It seemingly only happens with certain libraries. Why is this happening?

Hi,

Are you using Maven? Can you provide an example of such a library?

Please also add the following lines to the Help | Debug Log Settings dialog:

com.intellij.util.io.HttpRequests
#com.intellij.util.io.HttpRequests
com.intellij.util.proxy.CommonProxy
#com.intellij.util.proxy.CommonProxy

Then restart the IDE, reproduce the issue and look for the more detailed error messages in the logs (Help | Show Log in...).

If the reason is unclear, please collect all logs (Help | Collect Logs and Diagnostics Data) and upload the resulting archive to https://uploads.jetbrains.com/
