Lots of crashes since 2026.1.2
I had no idea my PHPStorm wasn't auto-updating anymore, so I was apparently stuck on 2024.x.
I went “what the hey?” and updated it to 2026.1.2.
I've only had it in use for about 2 days now, and in that time have already had 4 freezes, forcing me to shut down the program.
I feel like it happens whenever I'm doing something with Git, though I'm not entirely sure just yet.
My 2024.x version NEVER crashed. Like, literally, never.
This has happened 4 times in 2 days already…
Any ideas?
As a sidenote: Setting Codex as an active agent does nothing. The verification works, but then nothing happens.
On top of that: I've noticed that about 1 in 10 file uploads with PHPStorm go awry. This can be in the form of not uploading a file at all due to some indexing issue or even uploading just half a file or something like that.
This sucks :(
It's at times like these that make me think: Should I even renew it? VSC has been getting a lot better while PHPStorm has been getting a lot worse…
Anybody else here switch between CSV and PHPStorm? Has anybody else shared similar issues?

Thank you for your feedback.
If you'd like to troubleshoot the issues you've faced though, please feel free to reach out via a support ticket: https://www.jetbrains.com/help/phpstorm/getting-help.html#contact-support (Since forum is not the best place to share logs/etc)
Djdexxta Thanks, I'll try that. Maybe it'll help.
@Stefan Lakubov I might try that in a bit, if it happens again.
In most crashes it just freezes, but in one particular crash it asked me if I wanted to ‘log the threads’, which I did. Can you remind me of where those get stored so I have them ready for support?
