watchmedo / subprocess exit stealing focus

Answered

A recent update to PyCharm has caused my runconfigs using watchmedo (wrapping celery) to steal focus on subprocess termination. As watchmedo is set up to re-start celery when I save files, upon every save suddenly I'm greeted with a subprocess exit. Ugh.

Is there any way to stop this? Spent too much time cursing at Google and hopefully running up their AI bill on their useless AI model. LLMs are about 2+ years out of date so they are just useless.

Please create a new YouTrack case and provide a simplified version of your project so we can reproduce the issue – I tried a minimal watchmedo setup on 2026.2.1 and no such behavior was observed

Make sure to provide the full command line of your run configuration, including the Celery invocation.

Also whether you start it with Run or with Debug, and whether the focus lands in the Run tool window or the whole IDE window comes to the front.
