idea CPU memory usage

First of all, I used the MacOS M1 chip operating system, IDEA version 2021.1.1 arm architecture. Once I set my IDEA background image, the memory usage immediately increased, reaching more than 20G, and my computer’s running memory was only 16G. This is unacceptable to me. I uninstalled all the plug-ins, but the memory still did not decrease. After I removed the background image, the memory began to decrease. Why?
