Configuring a terminal editor through plugins

Greetings!
I'm trying to implement a terminal file editor plugin that runs a https://kakoune.org/ client for editing.
I've been inspired by this project:
https://github.com/JetBrains/hackathon-Embeditor

However, it turns out that the project might be outdated and i can't find the equivalent API extensions to replace them. I'm currently trying to implement this file:

And i'd like to know what API extension should i use to replace `JBTerminal `
