IntelliJ 2020.2.3 no longer starts

After updating to 2020.2.3 intellij no longer works. Nothing happens at all when I run the .exe
This is not the first time this happens, and can be fixed by removing and reinstalling intellij, however this is quite annoying. Could Jetbrains possibly start testing their updates and patches to avoid this? That would be so nice.

Are you sure you installed IntelliJ IDEA 2020.2.3? This version has been released one year ago. There were some problems with upgrade, but they were fixed in further versions.
It installed the latest version. I think 2021.2 (not 2020.2)

You are right, reinstall is the only option here. This was due to incorrect hashes generated for 2021.1.4, few users who downloaded 2021.1.4 in the first several hours were affected.
