Hi. Please check you have Grails plugin installed and enabled
Hi,
Sorry for the late replay. Yes the Grails plugin is installed (bundled) and it is enabled.
I tried to disable and re-enable the plugin but it did not helped.
I can open any existing Grails project and IntelliJ is working fine, but i can not create a new Grails project (except the Grails App Forge).
I am using my IntelliJ on two different devices, this is happening with both installation. Both are at the same stated (version/build) and are always updated/upgraded, that means no fresh installation for a very long time.
Is there a way to a clean uninstall from IntelliJ so i can try a fresh installation?
====

I did a clean new installation, but it is still not working.
EDIT 2:
I found this here: https://www.jetbrains.com/help/idea/2021.2/new-project-wizard.html#java
There is no more "Grails" (Create Grails project using Grails SDK) listed.
I don't know who made this decision and who is maintaining the documentation but
1) this was a really bad decision
2) the documentation should be up to date if you change something and should not contain contradictory informations.

We will most certainly update the documentation. Thanks for bringing this to our attention!
Thank you for that.
But my qustion is still remains the same:
Why is the possibilty of "Grails" (Create Grails project using Grails SDK)" is gone with IntelliJ 2021.2.x?
With IntelliJ 2021.1.3 it was possible to creat a "normal" Grails projekt with the Grails SDK of my choice.
The App Forge project wizard is being reworked, so having the "Create Grails project" option as a separate entry in the New Project Wizard was deemed unnecessary. You can turn the option back on via the IDE registry:
That helped!
Thank you!

Just my two cents as a paying customer: It is fine if a rework is ongoing! Just don't remove features because it is an ongoing rework. You can remove the feature if the rework is properly done and offer a replacement for the old feature.
Grails App. Forge is a nonsense thing, rather a kind of forgotten fun project, then something you can rely on.
I have to agree here. The forge is limited right now to only the most recent version of grails (5.0.3), which is not helpful at all for those of us who prefer to stand back from the bleeding edge, or just to have a consistent environment.
