Mysterious film icon

In the lower left hand side of my screen I saw a "moving film" icon and a green notification informing me that X had been recorded where X was whatever I had just done in the IDE, so, say if I hit  ctrl alt backarrow then it would tell me "record ctrl alt backarrow".

I have no idea what this is and didn't deliberately invoke it. First thought was new macro notification but it didn't go off when I hit ctrl M. Then I thought some screwy plugin but I only have 5 active plugins and none of them are about screencasting or recording or anything like that and none of them are owners of this. Then I thought "search help for recording" but help had nothing with the word recording except wrt to macros.

My concern is some huge file  has been created on my machine and is filling up my disk and I am triggering off some functionality I don't know what it is or what it's doing.

Searched IJ's site this form and web search but came up with nothing. It's definitely stock IJ functionality so you guys must know what it is.

On latest version.

Thanks.

I don't know why CTRL M didn't  stop it but it's the macro recording icon. CTRL+M hasn't been remapped to anything and should have stopped it. Some issue with CTRL M apparently.  Leaving this here for anyone else to find who has the same problem.
