After recent update, Theme dropdown is disabled/not clickable
After the recent update, I have found that I can no longer click on the drop down list where you can select different theme in Appearance menu.
Why has this now happened? Why can't I click on the theme drop down list to change the theme? If I click on the 3 dot menu beside it, it shows the theme options, but selecting one and clicking Ok does absolutely nothing (it does not change theme).
How can I re-enable this drop down list?

That's something new (the burger / three dots menu). Never seen it before on my PC.
I'm on Windows 10 using PhpStorm 2021.3.1 (build 213.6461.83) and it looks normal here.
1) First of all try disabling ALL custom (not bundled by default) plugins (use /downloaded filter on Plugins screen), restart the IDE and try again -- any difference?
2) Check for any possible hints in the idea.log (Help | Show Log in XXX)
Anyway: try changing the theme via popup: focus the Editor, then "Main Menu | View | Quick Switch Scheme..." -- will it switch if done this way?
As I mentioned, clicking the burger menu (the 3 dots on the side) does not change the theme. It appears selected, but does not actually change it for the IDE.

When I get a chance I will try disabling addons and see how it goes.
Just strange how the dropdown list is not clickable at all.
Tried that it still didn't work.
The only way I could do it was resetting all my settings back to default. Then everything just became normal again.
Very weird that the dropdown list would become disabled in such a way.

I had the same issue with IntelliJ on NixOS.
Switching back to my Windows and disabling "Sync with OS" option fixed the bug (I'm using settings sync).

Almost a year since the last comment, this still seems to be an issue (IntelliJ 2023.1.1 and Ubuntu 22.04)... any ETA on a fix? The suggested workaround kinda works, it will update the editor, but no popup appears to apply to the entire IDE.
Unfortunately, all tickets mentioned above are still in the "Open" state and no ETA is available.
You may vote/subscribe to get updates on their status.
I know it is about phpstorm, but another IDEs have the same bug.
The only way you can change theme is Setting - Editor - Color Scheme. It changes global theme too.

The bug is fixed already, and the fix will be available with the upcoming 2023.2.1 minor update.
