Philosophy behind Keymap

Answered

macOS Keymap has different layout. Is there a place where I could read what was the philosophy behind creating it?

When I should think I need to use `ALT` key when I should expect to find the shortcut under `CMD` etc?

I like that some things like Open functions are under `CMD+O` also Run are under `CTRL+R` the letters make sense to me. But the modifier keys I don't know why it changes. Maybe there's some philosophy behind it, would like to know then I could use that in my reasoning when I'm thinking about shortcuts.

I'd rather say there was no special reason for choosing this or that modifier.

In most cases we added an intuitive non-modifier to make the shortcut easier to remember, but the modifiers were added quite randomly, based on whether the corresponding combination with this or that modifier has not been already assigned to another action.
