What determines "Folded files"?

I have a laravel project and my .env file is listed in "Folded files" which I'd like to get out of and put back alongside the regular files.

I see /vendor and /node_modules in there as well, but those I can control with Settings -> Directories -> Excluded Folders I believe.  I can't find the equivalent excluded files section.

Any tips?

Could you please attach a screenshot of this "Folded files" list? That's not something I've yet seen.

So far it sounds like you have Foldable ProjectView plugin installed: https://plugins.jetbrains.com/plugin/17288-foldable-projectview

Aha, thanks Andriy! Indeed I do, forgot about that and just assumed it was baked in.  I'll direct my support to the plugin author

So you need configure it. From what I see it has a place where you can specify the file name patterns. Should work.
