file permissions on remote host changed after starting PyCharm

Hi guys,

I have been using PyCharm on my work computer (linux mint) and on my laptop (ubuntu) for a while now; without any problems! With the last update, however, it behaves a bit strangely..:
every time I start it on my laptop (and only there), the file permissions on the remote host are changed in an extremely unfavourable way. The settings are always the same (in particular Deployment>Options: preserve original file permission=no and no overrides). The interpreter settings are also the same.
In any case, I can't find any clues as to why it sometimes behaves this way, sometimes that way, and how the changing of file permissions through PyCharm can be fundamentally prevented.

Greetings ~

edit: i found out, it's the same with both instances..:-(

Hi, there was a recent regression https://youtrack.jetbrains.com/issue/PY-55540/Unchanged-files-are-re-uploaded-on-project-reopening

I suspect it's closely related. According to my testing, the permissions on the files are changed when they are re-uploaded on project reopen.

Are the files for which the permissions are modified expected to be synced with the local host? If not, adding them to [Preferences | Build, Execution, Deployment | Deployment | Excluded paths] may help.

Hi,

yes, it looks like it. And yes, the files should/must be synchronised (so they cannot simply be excluded). The permissions are always set to 755 for directories and 644 for files, no matter which permissions I set locally or which settings I make in the IDE.

Same problems here, this happened after latest update. Git pull on remote host fixes problem temporarily but permisions are overwritten even if said files are not modiefied locally.

Yes, this behavior is reproducible for me as well. I updated the issue. We'll increase the priority to fix it ASAP. I'm sorry for the inconvenience.
