intellij ui frozen windows wsl

when i opened java gradle project UI keep freezing. I cannot use it to code anymore since IntelliJ IDEA 2022.2 (Community Edition). upgrade to latest does not seem to fix the issue.
i am using windows 11, wsl2.java project using gradle. I will attach ui freeze dump logs.
PerformanceWatcherImpl - UI was frozen for 159568ms
PerformanceWatcherImpl - UI was frozen for 79338ms
PerformanceWatcherImpl - UI was frozen for 80076ms

Hi - does it help to do File | Invalidate Caches with the first two options selected, and restart the IDE?
all I got in the logs are these

on windows 10 , UI does not freeze
on windows 11, intellij cannot find wsl distribution, therefore nothing works after that. not sure what is change in windows 11
