Azure plugin errors

I'm trying out the Azure plugin for the first time. When I try to create a storage account it fails with
"supplied location westus is not valid"
West US is a valid location for a storage account.
Also, the only docs I've been able to find are out of date. What they show is different from what the Azure Explorer shows. Are there any up to date docs?
Is this plugin worth using, or should I switch to VS Code?
