I am not looking for a way to store settings in an external repository. While the idea isn't awful, it doen't solve the problem of having to set things up locally. I expect my settings to be local....

Defaults on new versions should not change behavior

Like the restore workspace on branch switching. I do not want this, but I have gotten to hate this feature with a passion because I have to adjust this on every single project. This is a "feature" ...
