Issue was due to how port forwading was working with kubernetes containers, which didn't seem to affect vscode but I was able to get around it now. Consider this issue solved.

Error when connecting using SSH

When I try to connect to an ssh server, I keep getting an error, see below. I can connect to it just fine using VS code or the terminal but not py charm. Any suggestions?
