I'm afraid I have no idea. You know, IDE simply calls the ADT tool from the AIR SDK and this error comes from that tool. It looks like a low-level compiler error but this observation doesn't help. ...

The issue is fixed in the already available 2017.3.1 EAP. You may switch to the Early Access Program channel in Settings (Preferences) | Appearance & Behavior | System Settings | Updates.

You may try File | Invalidate Caches, but most likely it won't help. Hard to say what the problem is. IDE prints "unknown error" when the compiler itself throws an error with an empty message. You ...
