Do you mean the breakpoints you put aren't invoked, or that running itself fails due to some other reasons? Can the code be run and debugged in plain old println way?

Please make sure that your groovy files are placed under module source roots

In module settings (Ctrl+Alt+Shift+S), on paths tab you can mark some folders in your module as source ones (blue). This is essential for Groovy code assistance to work.

Does this happen on any script in any place? Does your content contain class/variable/property/method named 'res'? Could you provide a script sample where this error happens?

Does it say anything about file references? Then it will be fixed in 8.1.x
