Are changes detected correctly if you use command line only? We are only simulating the command line call, we don't perform 'smart' optimizations for non-modified files.

That's simple. If you look into your grails script and inline startGrails call inside, you'll get a similar Java command line.

Currently we do not support running such methods that aren't contained in an explicit class, sorry. You should place the test method to a class .

This property is set because otherwise Gant runner would fail, but with empty property it works just fine with standalone scripts. Currently the best way to override it is to set it once more in VM...

8.1.3 will contain the ant.home setting in Gant script run configuration. You may set it once in its template settings.

Which host name/port do you use? Do you specify them when deploying in IDEA and command line? Could you copy-paste the grails outputs when run from both places?
