I'm not aware of such plans. At the same time, in our IDEs, you can use the "Menu -> Tools -> Start SSH Session" workflow. So I'd offer to take a look if it's something that helps.

Sorry, not sure we've got the idea. You'd like us to write something instead of OpenSSH, or do you just need to connect to a remote IDE?

To download the backend archive, we use simple curl/wget, so you can set up the proxy in environment variables in format of https_proxy=proxyhost:proxyport
