This is fixed for me -- should have posted earlier -- in 2021.3.1 Preview version of IntelliJ.

I have similar issues with Java 11 (if that is, in fact, the root cause).

I'd love for JB to have a native offering on Chromebook. I can do the setup, but I'd rather not if I can just use the Toolbox.
