Why are you looping over all elements of the staff array, only to use the array in its entirety on every iteration?I don't know the rest of your code, but shouldn't the 4th line be something like<!...

I've never heard of YourKit before - are they somehow aligned with JetBrains?How does their profiler compare to more well known products like JProbe and OptimizeIt?
