Any chance we could run an EAP version and yet disable the saving of this file? Or get it to save to the XDG_CACHE_HOME directory?

It seems that as of the latest version upgrade announcement, the bundled jdk versions are the default. This isn't too surprising since the issues listed on this page seem to be fixed.

As of the latest release, the bundled version is the default download, which means no more of this confusing mess.
