Sure thats possible.* Turn on automatic uploads* open the remote host panel* choose the file you want to edit, right click it and select "download from here"* edit it then hit refresh in your brows...

another option is to add a bookmark.ctrl+shift+1 to bookmark a place in the file your working on in the top editor, then go to the file your working on in the bottom editor and add a second bookmar...

Not everyone hates it. Im used to it now and really love the autosave feature. :).Not all IDE's have to be the same. I Love PhpStorm.
