Today, after upgrading to 2018.1 for Mac, I ran into the same problem once again. This time however I can't save myself by disable "Override default fonts", because it's already been deselected. As...

Sorry, solved already. In the settings for Appearance the Override default fonts option was activated. After disabling that, all was well.
