OK, it works! I had to switch auto-sync on myself in settings-deployment-options.It does give me a much more responsive IDE of course.Thanks for the help guys!

Alexey's sollution works fine for me. I can now start an ant command from the IDE Admitting that it's a loose coupling, I'm OK with it.
