You are right, in mac os x, WebStorm looks crisp and clear. Unfortunately, I need to use WebStorm on a Windows vm as well. For example, VS2012 in the vm machine looks excellent, so it shoud be poss...

As a matter of fact, this is on a brand new machine, with a fresh install with only a minimum of applications. Certainly less apps than on my previous machine running a previous version of WebStorm...
