My debugger suddenly started to fail to start. I deleted all my breakpoints (~20) & that fixed it.

Explicitly setting the context root worked. Thanks. We have a java source tree with about 40 projects under a single parent. It contains no IDEA files in SCCS. When I open it for the first time...
