I downloaded the installer variant for Windows and this one is a whole 34 Mb. So what are those 14 Mb in there. It cannot be the installer, can it? That would be horrible.

It's still in the log-subdirectory of your IDEA-system directory. When you did not change the settings in IDEA.bat it's in a directory called .IntellijIdea30 in your user's directory.
