Had the same issue (Windows XP SP2, jdk1.6.0_01), removed "../IntelliJIdea70/config/plugins", started IDEA, added manually "Copy FQN" and "SpellCheckPlugin", shut down IDEA, cleaned up the log file...

It may be expensive but, as I've said above, many products (firewalls/antiviruses mainly) do so already (to find out if any conflicting software is installed) and I suppose they have a good reason ...
