I found out it is a read-only file system:▶ mount | grep jetbrjetbrains-toolbox on /tmp/.mount_jetbratvVwgd type fuse.jetbrains-toolbox (ro,nosuid,nodev,relatime,user_id=1001,group_id=1001)

3. Old Jetbrains files stay in my /tmp directory

I the meantime it works okay. I removed the entire JetBrains directory in .local/share in my home directory to make a clean start. This solved the issue.
