i did nothing special, it just worked. the scala plugin already has everything configured. if you "run the plugin", another instance of intellij starts up, using the scala plugin you just compiled....

i'd say go for lift. my reason is that play is easier to use out of the box, it would not benefit as much as lift. compared to play, lift is more complex to set up. play "just works".but since idea...
