I found some more info on my problem. It seems to be an interaction with PySide2 and the debugger. With PySide2 installed and the "PyQt compatible" checkbox in settings->build execution development...

On a new computer with a fresh install of Pycharm, python 3.9 and numpy I don't see the problem. It must be an interaction with some other package, I'll check the two other computers I saw the prob...
