MacBook Pro 2.4ghz 3gb memory, OS X 10.5.7, ... java 1.5.0_19 (update 4)I'm going to attempt a rollback of the java update from time machine if possible this weekend. Anyone else tried that?

yes, this used to work but now i'm getting the same error. they've changed something in the launcher, i've tried a dozen different things and can't get IntelliJ to find JDK6... i get the same mess...

fwiw, I'm not having the same problem. 8.1.1 on my Mac (10.5.6) is running fine... using Java 5.

The 500MB limit is with the 32 bit VM and itends up depending on when you start IDEA -- if you start it soon enoughafter a boot cycle you can occasionally get more. Sounds like you have a problem...
