This used to be in one of the templates but disappeared in one of the versions. I think some velocity magic could bring it back if you override the built in templates.

Your Callable statement should get closed but you could end up throwing an exception on the oraCS.close and hang the connection itself.

From an outsiders perspective that has nothing to do with this project, I would think you are free to update the plugin. It does seem like a dead project at the moment.
