Indeed. I followed the same steps. Create Spring Project (Gradle tool window missing), restart intellij and everything is detected just fine. Thank you.

I've followed your answer with a little change.I'm running a J2EE under tomcat, I've removed Make and added Clean and Package before deploy and everything is running fine

I've added log4j-over-slf4j and looks like the problem is solved, at least I can use hibernate console.
