The plugins should auto-update when you launch IDEA, assuming you have update checks turned on. If not, just go into the plugin manager and search for updates.I've had no issues with other plugins ...

We're a 1.5 house and we plan to upgrade to 1.6 once the IDEs support it as it's really just 1.5 w/bug fixes and a couple new features. The jump from 1.4 is a bit more substantial, but we did that...
