Actually, that's the bug.  The Tomcat port is not 8080, it's something else.  Yet IDEA complains that 8080 is in use (why is it bothering to check 8080 when Tomcat is not configured to start there?).

I'm getting this now with IDEA 9, same thing.  Running on Linux, my Tomcat is confingured to come up on 8444.  I get the error message:"Error running Local Server: Address localhost:8080 is already...

Was an issue ever filed for this?  I'm having a similar problem where only a subset of CATALINA_BASE is copied over.

I'm a wanker... the only source in the JDK is for the core classes, of course it won't work when I'm looking for things in sun.security, etc.
