IMHO it is a VERY strange way of updating prototype of an object....Why you using "var $p = MyClass;" here?

From the PHP language's point of view (and PhpStorm as a PHP IDE), firstly, it is a "missing statement" before an else operator. Then, all done right on your screenshot.

It is all about plugin development.Some plugin is "compiled against IDEA Platfom version 8 (Diana)". IntelliJ IDEA 9.x is based on platform version 9 (Maia) and platform version X is now in develop...
