I think it was due to inheriting from a trait that also declared the 'put' method, which somehow got IntelliJ confused. Anyways, my code has changed since then and am on holiday. Can we just close ...

Syntax update of akka-http routes incredibly slow - anything I can do to speed it up?

Update of syntax highlighting is incredibly slow, when editing even a simple route definition. Updates take seconds, which really breaks the edit/will-this-compile flow. I didn't have this before. ...

I'm experiencing similar lack of updates with akka-http routes, recently. Will make a separate issue about it. (IntelliJ IDEA CE 2017.4 #IC-171.4694.23).
