I'm having this problem also, but on MacOS. The docs you linked to says it is platform specific, and I can't find the File -> Synchronize which appears to have been how you were supposed to manuall...

I believe the correct way to handle this is to use a custom test runner that specifies env vars at runtime. Edit, actually no, because this would still require the secrets be checked in :P
