The restarting part is key, thanks Pablo! There should really be a note that a restart is required in the preferences/settings (since most settings changes work immediately).

This omission is uncharacteristic for IntelliJ. Webstorm is the premium, ie. best editor available. I literally recommend it to my entire class of programming students ... and yet it can't handle...
