I have the opposite issue: It does stay open after losing focus, but loses keyboard focus which is literally NEVER what I want (ie. I'm trying to edit my query but actually editing the file obscure...

I found it. The setting was in `~/Library/Preferences/PyCharm2018.2/options/ui.lnf.xml`sure enough, it was set to 122.
