I think cidr.asynchronous.refresh.after.build should be the default. CLion used to be pretty fast here, but since 2021.1 it has been chugging for no good reason.

I'm awfully late to answer that, but I've replaced all waf stuff with cmake. I've opened a PR with the upstream project.
