Although that link is ancient and no longer valid for log4j2, I think you are correct in saying that I needed some additional dependencies in the POM.  I found a related post that gives some hints ...

Agreed that all projects should be put under version control.  It is insane to do projects without it.  But I can't fight bureaucracy.  I just have to wait on them. Thanks.

Commit... as in version control?  If so... I might not have that window, and that might explain why the shortcut isn't active.  We were supposed to get github licenses months ago but we are waiting...

The window selected at the time of pressing they keyboard shortcut was a regular java file. I see no "Find by shortcut" under "Settings/Keymap".  I even tried using the search bar in Keymap to loca...
