It looks like direct editing of data in a Snowflake table is not possible without explicitly setting active warehouse.
However, there seems to be no way of indicating active warehouse for Edit Data functionality.
The following error pops up and no data is displayed:
[57P03][606] No active warehouse selected in the current session. Select an active warehouse with the 'use warehouse' command.
Has someone managed to find a solution or workaround?
