Can I permanently reorder columns in the Database in v. 9.0.2 ?

After I have reordered my columns I can not see how to lock the columns in my prefered place. They always default to the end, which means that I then have to go to PHPMYAdmin and reorder them there. 

I can see from the forums that in 2014 Storm could not reorder columns permantly - has anything changed that I have missed ?
