What is this feature in the Editor?

I am using RubyMine 2017.1 EAP (Build #RM-171.3019.14, built on February 9, 2017 on mac) and after the previous update I am seeing a new feature that looks like synthetic code syntax tags appear in the editor window. In this snippet, it's the desc: and name: items in the code of a ruby test

What is this feature? And can I toggle it on/off?  Thanks!!

Hello Jim,

it's our new feature - parameter hints:

https://blog.jetbrains.com/ruby/2017/02/rubymine-2017-1-eap-6-creating-tests-with-go-to-test/

You can turn this feature off by going to Preferences | Editor | General | Appearance.

Thanks Olga!!  I looked at that blog post but stopped reading after the Go item. I should have kept going!

I really like it but sometimes the param names get in the way of reading the code.    Jim.

Jim,

we had a request regarding this usability problem (https://youtrack.jetbrains.com/issue/RUBY-19238) so you'll see the difference in 2017.1 RC.

Feature creep maddening beyond belief. You have this on by default (!) and it's next to impossible to find in the preferences because its name is not obvious.

I suspect the reason there aren't a ton of other complaints about this intrusive madness is because most people disgusted by your feature creep have already left.
